Fashion beyond the runway

So, believe it or not, there is more to fashion than runway shows. New York based (but SA born) Marc Bouwer recently did a “virtual fashion show” and Cape Town’s Habits have also just done something similar. In both cases this basically means filming/shooting a catwalk style show. I don’t mean to knock either label as they’re doing things differently (and securing some nice coverage out of it) but i’m curious why stick to the catwalk format online? I think the next step with this type of thing is to film it a more interesting location – out on the streets maybe?
